My style is hatha/vinyasa flow yoga, moving with the breath, often taking several breaths in key poses before moving to another. I tailor the practice for beginners while encouraging those with more experience to work harder and take more advanced poses. In this way, offering alternatives for those less or more physically able, students still feel that they are working together within the class, while doing their own yoga practice on their mat, focusing on their progress and not comparing themselves to others.
I had practised yoga on and off for fourteen years before attending a yoga retreat in Bali at the beginning of 2014. I was enjoying the inspiration of the teacher, the beautiful surroundings and the yoga itself when it came to me that I wanted to undertake a teacher training; I realised that I wanted to make yoga a permanent, regular and core part of my life.
My teaching style is encouraging, relaxed and open, without pretension. I believe that yoga is accessible to everyone, regardless of flexibility, age or body type and I hope to inspire even complete beginners to try yoga and enjoy all of the benefits that it can bring to their lives. I enjoy the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of my own practice and want to encourage my students to aim for and embrace these yogic elements for themselves.
