Unlikely Yogi June Yoga Retreat in the Cotswolds
There’s only one thing more amazing than teaching a yoga class, and that’s leading and teaching a weekend yoga retreat. For the second time we visited Holycombe in the stunning Cotswolds at the end of June. The sun was beating down, there were laughs and camaraderie and tasty food and homemade cake.
Oh, and yoga of course. Four classes over the weekend, interspersed with massages and sunbathing and the odd cheeky trip out to Daylesford farm to buy a few treats. New date set for May 2019, see details and information on how to book your spot on the Retreats page.
If you don’t just want to take my word for it, here are some reviews from some of my lovely yogis who attended the June weekend:
I had the most brilliant time at the retreat with Nikki, the yoga has been amazing, as usual, the massage was totally amazing and the sound bath was a whole new experience, one that you can not describe, you just need to do it!
It was my first retreat and it did not disappoint, normal people, enjoying being with like-minded individuals, with an opportunity to fully embrace yoga. It felt like I got the opportunity to press reset and recharge my batteries, I would totally recommend it to anybody.
Nikki is friendly, approachable and helpful, she only wants for you to enjoy yourself, love yourself and feel like you have learnt something, all with a typical ‘unlikely’ approach, that makes you want to come back for more!
In a few words “Heaven on Earth” a little sanctuary hidden away from the stresses of everyday life, a perfect place to slip away and forget about everything only focusing on the moment, everything was far beyond my expectations, excellent food, good clean accommodation, fantastic location, I hope this can be a regular venue.
The time away at the Holycombe yoga retreats organised by Nikki are as near perfect an experience as one can get in this troubled and over busy world. The venue in deepest Warwickshire is fabulous, the house in which we eat and practise yoga is a calm haven. Many of us stay in the main house others are in buildings in the grounds of the main house and all are ideal. Nikki’s yoga teaching is second to none and she mixes sessions of mediation and yoga, yin yoga and sound healing to perfect pitch – there’s just the right amount of organised activities and free time (oh and there’s a local masseuse who comes in too for massage sessions just to add to the delight). There’s a great balance of people who attend some old friends some new but all with an interest in the yoga and general wellbeing that it make for a delightful experience.
It was a fantastic weekend! Thank you very much for organising. I certainly learnt a lot and have now taken up weekly yoga. Yey!!
The instruction was fab on the yoga moves, it really helped me understand how my position should be in different moves. The food was excellent, especially the piri piri chicken and cakes. Yum yum! 😊 😊. The accommodation was really nice too, and comfortable. It was the perfect area for what we were doing as it was quiet and secluded.
I thought going out to the pub on the first night was a great idea as then we got to know each other well and in a comfortable environment.
